During the debate, the previous Skills Minister Rob Halfon questioned Anne Milton the current Skills Minister as to whether there is really a need at age 16 for young people to choose between a wholly academic and a wholly technical route and whether young people might benefit from the opportunity for more blended learning. He also noted the lack of a single voice on skills gaps and skills shortages since the demise of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills. Watch the debate in full here
