Much discussion was held at the AELP conference held on the 24th and 25th June.. The article in FE Week detailed some of the issues facing Apprenticeships, most specifically End Point Assessment.
Ms Collier, Ofqual’s Chief Regulator spoke at the conference and told delegates she wants to keep tabs on EPA and has fresh concerns about capacity.
“In terms of the ongoing regulation of EPAs, one of the things that we are concerned about at the moment is assessor capability and capacity, and we will have a programme of work to look at this over the coming months,”
The Assessors Guild share some of the same concerns and are aiming to professionalise and recognise the assessor community, including posting valid professional development courses, qualifications and workshops that follow a quality CPD Framework targeting the needs of new and existing assessors.
